Now that cryptocurrency had earned a lot of respect and trust in the past couple of years, the communities in the industry are stronger than ever.
According to recent reports, one of the oldest and well-renowned communities of Bitcoin (BTC) has made an announcement. The announcement reveals that the platform has just crossed the 2 million subscriber benchmark with respect to the activity. The announcement was made by the firm on January 29, 2021.
As per sources, the main reason behind the surge in the user influx on the platform is due to mass media attention. The platform has started gaining a lot of media attention due to the r/Wallstreetbetssubreddit.
The Reddit analytics website has also shared the metrics that it collected and observed for the subreddit r/Bitcoin. At the time of publication, the subreddit r/Bitcoin has 2,184,941 subscribers, making it the 178th most popular subreddit group. There are currently more than 100,000 active subreddit pages that are active and operating on the Reddit platform.
The Reddit analytics website revealed that the subreddit r/Bitcoin group crossed the 2 million subscriber benchmark on January 29, 2021. The firm had reportedly hit the 1 million subscriber benchmark more than 18 months prior to hitting 2 million subscribers.
It has been revealed that much of the subscribers the subreddit has accumulated over the course of years was gradual. However, the subreddit r/Bitcoin started experiencing a surge in subscriber influx just last week.
According to statistics, more than 200,000 subscribers joined the subreddit r/Bitcoin group in a matter of days. The Reddit analytics website shows that on January 26, 2021, the total number of subscribers on the subreddit r/Bitcoin was 1,982,681. However, by January 30, 2021, the number of subscribers went all the way up to 2,184,941.
The analysts are suggesting that one of the major reasons for the surge of subscribers is its involvement in the recent Robinhood and GameStop scuffle.
It was just last week when the mainstream media groups started reporting that the retail investors from the r/Wallstreetbets have started going against the traders from Wall Street. It has been reported that the retail investors from the r/Wallstreetbets have started taking Wall Street head-on by short-selling GameStop stocks.
The subreddit r/Bitcoin was formed (in 2010), two years after the release of the white paper for Bitcoin (BTC) back in 2008. Since its launch, the subreddit has proven to be one of the most influential crypto-community groups.
