Free Ton has developed a bridge known as the Free Ton Bridge, which acts as a second-layer solution. The bridge is used by Free Ton to link/connect itself with the Ethereum blockchain. The bridge is present in the system to play a key role in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.

The bridge also offers the benefit to the users of transferring their assets from the layer-one solution of the protocol to the second-layer solution. With the passage of time, the first-layer solution had been affected by a large number of transactions and data flow.

However, the second-layer solution has been introduced by Free Ton in order to deal with the delay and slowness of the network. Due to the system running slow, the transactions were also being delayed, causing each transaction to be processed at a higher fee than usual.

The second-layer solution has been equipped with the infrastructure that focuses on fixing these major problems. The infrastructure offers high scaling capabilities, which means that more transactions can flow through the system at a single time.

The scaling offered by the second-layer solution is much higher and vast than the first-layer solution. This is the reason why the cost of processing a transaction through the second-layer solution is very low as compared to the former solution.

The major reason behind the launch of the second-layer solution is to give all the freedom the users needed in order to use the platform as per their desire. The previous Free Ton solution was not as vast as the latest solution. The previous solution limited the users and confined their capabilities and abilities to a certain cap.

However, the second-layer solution does not do it at all and gives full freedom to the users. The freedom offered by the Free Ton Bridge can now be compared with the autonomous services offered through the DeFi banks.

As it is a decentralized network, it is not controlled by a centralized entity just like they do in the case of banks and other financial service providers. Here, the control is distributed democratically among the autonomous organization, which is decentralized in nature.

In addition to launching the second-layer Free Ton Bridge, the protocol has even launched the BRIDGE token. The main purpose of the BRIDGE tokens would be the governance of the structure offered by the Free Ton network. The basic utility of the tokens being offered by Free Ton is also the management of DAO.

If any user holds the BRIDGE tokens, they have the ability to vote and participate in the governance of the Free Ton Bridge. When it comes to governance, every user with governance tokens in their possession can take part in voting for upgrades and the addition of new services on the platform.
